More about this blog

This blog site has been created to encourage the IT community to express its views and make their voices heard in order to further a rigorous discussion on important issues related to professionalism in IT. The IP3 takes no position on particular legal or policy initiatives. All expressions of opinion are those of the guest bloggers.

IP3 has dipped its toe in the social media pool this year by launching videos on the Professionalism Debate on YouTube, we’re eager to wade in a little further. The 2010 Youtube videos were inspired by the simple, straightforward answers IT practitioners gave when questioned about professionalism in IT.  With this blog site, we hope to build on that effort to further stimulate the debate. This blog site is designed to be informative, interactive and interesting.  We initially focused on professionalism in IT, but we've expanded our topics to cover the IT Talent Gap, Business and IT Strategic Alignment, and the Need for an IT Talent Strategy and other topics that we think might be interesting to you, our readers. The topic authors are IT practitioners who are interested in the subject matter.  We’ll also introduce more videos and share anything interesting we find along the way.

More importantly, we want you to tell us what you think and share your opinions. We’ve laid out some ground rules, but have worked to make this as open as possible.  Respond to what you see on the site, ask questions, or discuss amongst yourselves.

We may not always agree, but that’s ok.

You can subscribe to the IT Professionalism Debate blogs through an RSS feed.
