In pursuing this mission, the IP3 Board has established the IP3 Professional Standards Committee to function as a standards advisory body. The IP3 Professional Standards Committee is responsible for the provision of advice and guidance on all issues associated with IP3 professional standards requirements.

To ensure that the Professional Standards Committee is fully engaged with the IP3 stakeholder community and that its advice is informed by the expertise within that community, the Board has also established the Professional Standards Council.
The Professional Standards Council provides a forum for liaison and cooperation between industry and IP3. Its role is focused on developing standards with respect to the professional knowledge, skills and professional attributes needed by the IT professional. It is intended as a catalyst to bring together the developed and developing nations (both IP3 Members and non IP3 Members) to assist in the development of the IT profession worldwide.
The primary role of the professional Standards Council is to support the Professional Standards Committee in its role of providing advice and guidance to the IP3 Board.
