Accredited Societies

The International Professional Practice Partnership (IP3) announced on September 9,2008 that the Australian Computer Society (ACS) had become the first professional body to be accredited to award the new IP3P certification. The accreditation covers the members holding the ACS Certified Professional (CP) status.

"This kind of international certification will help lift the standard and quality of Australia’s ICT sector and hopefully bring it closer to establishing the same prestige and type of accreditation to other established professions such as accountancy and law. It represents a great step forward for the ICT Industry”.

On December 17, 2008, the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) became the second professional body to achieve IP3 accreditation for its Information Technology Certified Professional (ITCP).

“The IP3 effort to create a globally recognized profession for IT is commendable and CIPS strongly encourages other professional bodies to join the effort. Recognition and accreditation of the Canadian professional standard (ITCP) against the global standard provides significant and tangible benefits to the IT practitioner and broader IT in Canada".
