South African Moira de Roche Takes Over as Chair of IFIP IP3

Thursday 28 September 2017 – The International Professional Practice Partnership (IP3), the ICT professionalism arm of IFIP, (International Federation for Information Processing), the global federation of national computer societies, has elected Moira de Roche as its new Chair.

Ms de Roche, who previously served as Vice Chair and has been active in IP3 since its inception, takes over from Brenda Aynsley of Australia, who stepped down after six years as leader.

In accepting the new role, Ms de Roche paid tribute to Ms Aynsley, who will continue to play a role on the IP3 Board as Immediate Past Chair.

“I am honoured to be elected as the new Chair and realise that I have a hard act to follow. Brenda has been a great leader who inspired the board and members to devote time, passion and energy to promote the Partnership,” she said, pointing to IP3’s increased profile at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, at the United Nations and elsewhere.

Ms de Roche said IP3 would continue to actively promote the importance of ICT professionalism in driving positive outcomes across government, business and society.

In addition to her extensive international work with IP3, Ms de Roche is a former President, Director, Professional Member and Fellow of IITPSA, the IT Professional body in South Africa.
